Crafts & Cocktails
Crafts & Cocktails is a DIY based program where the host, Angel, is joined by a special guest where they talk about certain topics and/or interesting subjects all while drinking specialty made cocktails as they create the chosen craft of the day. Through it all is a mixture of fun personalities and storytelling that keeps the audience entertained throughout the entire show. The program is televised on YouTube as well as on other streaming services that may be revealed during the end of the episode. It’s not exactly like any ordinary talk-show, bloopers are included and so much realism - no sugar coating or anything like that. Angel is just your average person with a great sense of humor.
Demographics - Age & Gender
The program is rated PG-13, though some of the conversations tend to be a bit overrated for an immature group. I would say a mature audience of 14+ would be appropriate, from young teens to older adults - boys and girls.
Concepts + Strategies
Crafts and Cocktails is an on/off again program simply made for just fun and laughs. It started out on Dec 24, 2020 - on Christmas Eve of 2020 and its last episode was June 10, 2022, so a few months ago. There’s a total of 18 showings on the YouTube Channel if you’re interested, however, during the time that it ran what I found to be successful in keeping my attention was the raw editing, nothing was blocked out or covered up, it was all real from the talks, the show itself, the laughs, the vibe, it simply gave off an ordinary feel of geniality.
Social Media
Crafts & Cocktails is found on YouTube and studio stage streaming services; however, its host - Angel Laketa Moore is also an actress, stand-up comedian, writer, mom, wife, and avid learner. She began her acting career doing musicals at regional theaters throughout the U.S. as well as in the NY Fringe Festival. She’s on YouTube (ThatChickAngelTV) where you may find many of her most recent videos of family vlogs, crafts and cocktails, family mukbangs, hair, hauls, and etc. She has an Instagram, showcasing short videos of different content, a Facebook account with family posts and special lives hosted. You may check out some of her trending tweets on her Twitter, or be free to click on her website where you can get to know her who Angel is, watch some of her latest YouTube videos, weekly podcasts, and there's also an option to subscribe to her channel.
The Rap Game
The Rap Game gives opportunities to upcoming hip-hop artists with a chance to work with a high-profiled producer. There’s a rap battle in every episode from the emerging superstars in order to keep their place on top of the HIT List as well as in the house. From executive producers like Queen Latifah and Jermaine Dupri, season five of the ‘Rap Game’ began on Thursday, January 10th in 2019. There are a total of six young rappers that are selected into the house to freestyle their way to a prize that will change their lives forever - a recording contract with Jermaine Dupri’s label (So So Def Recordings). The final season featured artists Will.I.Am, Lil Jon, Killer Mike, Rapsody, and Jacquees - all individuals joined alongside Dupri to be guided into a promising music career in rap. The program was produced by Intuitive Entertainment’s Kevin Dill, Mechelle Collins, including Ilia Saddler-Flagg and Angela Chiu with show runners Adam Schor and Bob Schermerhorn, and many more.
Demographics - Age & Gender
The age rating for the program was listed as 12+. The Rap Game is a reality show that underlines real expectations of the industry of rap/hip-hop, so it contains profanity, much that is bleeped out, including confrontations, stage-parenting, and feedback from the mentors of the industry. It’s not as extreme as it might come across as it can be a fun, sincere program to listen and get to know some of the contestants on the show and build connections with not only themselves but with their music as well.
Concepts + Strategies
The Rap Game engages a young audience with a passion for music, placing them in rap battles with one another to showcase their talents in a competitive environment to seek out the best. This keeps the show entertaining to see who will win and hear some of the intense, catchy beats, while giving a bit of an insight into the music making process.
Social Media
The program does have an official Instagram where you can watch short clips of latest content from the show. Their Twitter account has video based tweets from the program as well, including Facebook where you can check out some sneak peeks of what the show has to offer. On YouTube, the Rap Game’s full episodes are displayed on the Lifetime Channel, which are completely free to watch.
1000 Words - My Reality Series
1000 words is an American reality-television series where writers from all around the world come together to write a 1,000 word story that would be judged by professional critics to be an approved entry inside the writer’s club that will allow them to have their voices heard. Contestants are sent outside into the open world to be challenged to use their five senses for inspiration of their upcoming project with the addition of workshops that would allow them to create their own characters’ personality and identity. The stories will be inspired by these experiences, making their audiences feel and long to know more of what happens next as if they’re living the story that was designed. The program challenges its writers to find inspiration, to be inspired to enhance their imagination and see the world through the eyes of their creation, becoming their character. The main key is to just write. Each contender will be paired with its own chosen mentor that they may go to for advice; however, the work is truly done by the individual to write their own story.
